L-Triptiphan -Turkey!

There was a Ban on a supplement in the 80's L-tryptaphan, (excuse my spelling)
This is the substance in Turkey! that gives us that warm Fuzzy feeling after eating Turkey, not to mention the stuffing Yams and so on.....
As I recall there was a batch from Japan that was tainted, so it was pulled from the shelves.
I havent seen this supplement anywhere, its seems rather harsh to Ban a supplement thay may be beneficial for reducing stress just because one batch from another country was Bad .
